BJP’s Christian Outreach- Genuine Initiative or Clever Politics for Votes- A Podcast

BJP has been trying very hard to execute its Hindutva project and othering of minorities for years. At this juncture, the BJP is trying to expand its foothold in new regions and among new communities like never ever before. Since the early 2020s, BJP has been trying to reach out to the Christian community mainly through the clergy and leaders of the Church. Understanding this topic is needed to understand whether it is in fact a genuine step to integrate a community into its policy-making or it is solely for votes for which the concerns of the community might be taken granted for. Summary of the podcast 

Generally, these topics aren’t much available in the mainstream media, because they are believed hard to crack and don't address the basics. But, through our podcast, we disprove this misconception that these cannot be understood by common people. We explain in simple terms various subtopics under this vast topic in the form of conversational and discussion styles. Everything is easy to follow and understandable in the episode. 

The discussion started by looking at why historically there has been an aversion to the BJP from Christian communities. Later the panellists discussed the dynamics of the BJP's outreach to the members of the clergy and how the efforts are being carried on the ground. The result for the Kerala Elections 2026 was declared on 4th May. UDF bounced back to power with 102 seats, and LDF collapsed to a record low of 35 seats, and for the first time, BJP won three seats in Southern Kerala.
