The Never Ending Debate on Reservation in India

When we say the word, reservation everyone means and refers specifically to caste-based reservation.  Reservation is applicable in educational institutions and in government jobs, PSUs, at the governmental level, politics, and administration. But in India, it opens up for a variety of debates in India on society, economics, and justice.  Why Reservation and specifically Caste-based Reservation? Countries around the world have various types of affirmative actions, and in India, it is primarily through reservation. Due to the backwardness and historic disadvantages faced, India has a system of caste-based reservation, enshrined in the Constitution of India, yet has been practised since the 1932 Poona Pact. The result for the Kerala Elections 2026 was declared on 4th May. UDF bounced back to power with 102 seats, and LDF collapsed to a record low of 35 seats, and for the first time, BJP won three seats in Southern Kerala.
