The Congress party has been in the headlines in the country for the past five months, especially after a mixed bag of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. The party ex-President Rahul Gandhi undertook a massive Kanyakumari-Kashmir 4000 km foot yatra . It was called Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) which meant a journey to unite the country. On 30th January, the yatra ended in Lal Chowk, Srinagar,  It was deemed as a massive makeover for the party. Beyond BJY, Congress was in the headlines for both right and wrong reasons. It has been a long time since such massive-scale political yatras happened in the country. This time it was with a lot of publicity, the use of technology and a lot of spending. The budget speech was held on 3rd April by the Financial Minister of Kerala K N Balagopal in the Kerala Legislative Assembly.
